The land that gave us our name
El Guatal means uncultivated land covered in plants — a wild, generous piece of earth in Mexico where a whole community gathered to eat, share, and belong.
Recipes learned at her grandmother's side
Founder Tania Palafox grew up on that farmland, learning from her grandmother Maria Herlinda Romero — every ingredient picked fresh from the soil.
A table for the whole community
El Guatal is Tania's tribute to her grandparents — and an open invitation to everyone in St. Peters to eat well, feel welcome, and come back often.
